5 Health Benefits Of Sweating

Finding Strength Through Movement

2023 Ripple's Year of Reflection

Meet Our Ripple Ambassdor in Paris - Amélie Annoni

For us at Ripple, Amélie represents the way the wisdom of yoga can spread and transforms lives. The fact that a yogi so in tune with feeling good and comfortable in her body has fallen in love with our healthy fabrics and designs, is a great inspiration and motivation to keep doing what we love and spreading Ripple(s) of good vibes.
As a practitioner and teacher, Amélie's modest yet inspiring approach is about finding joy in the simple things in life and connecting to inner strength.

"I came across yoga 12 years ago. At that time, I worked in a Parisian publishing house as an event planner and was under a lot of stress. I figured Yoga could help me with this. I went twice a week and though I enjoyed the asana part a lot, the rest of it felt weird. I did not get the pranayama benefits and the meditation part was horrendous. I kept at it for a year and stopped the practice to get back to running. What I did not realize was that the seeds were planted."

"A few years later, I became a mom and started struggling between this new part of my life, my job and my tremendous desire and need for some time on my hands. Quite burnt out, I took the decision to see a hypnotherapist. The second session revealed to me the amazing amount of energy within me, and the need to get back to this spring of power. That's when I went back to Yoga."

In a really short time, a new routine settled and Amelie rolled her mat out every morning before heading to the office.
Her dedication to the practice drove her into teaching a few years after.

"I used to practice on my own through a Youtube channel such as Yoga with Adriene, and Yoga by Candace. But in no time I discovered the huge scene of Yoga Paris has to offer and in no time started practicing Vinyasa with Gerard Arnaud, whom I did my first training with. He used to be a student of Iyengar and Pattabi Jois. His rigor is tremendous, and I learned the asana alignment thanks to him. Then, I turned to a different approach of Vinyasa practice with Mathieu Boldron and took a second 200 TT with him. I learned a LOT on how to guide students through practice: his sequencing technique is divine!"
.

After the second training, Amelie started teaching a lot more in different places, taking a TT in Yin Yoga as well during her exploration of different practices and fell in love with it. She did a couple of training and went to Vancouver to learn from Bernie Clark directly.

"It is the perfect counterbalance to a Yang style of life we have in Paris and other big cities. It is also a great way to release tensions in the deep tissues and to be obligated to meditate. Nothing to do, nowhere to go. Yin brings you face to face with yourself. There is no possibility to hide from yourself. Yoga is a great opportunity to learn about life and about you. I don't see it as a means to become the best version of yourself since it feels to me that everything is already here.
We are perfect just as we are, but we may need help to see it."

"I pay a lot of attention to pranayama and meditation in my classes. It is important to train the mind to be still, and breathwork is the best way to calm the nervous system. Just as muscles need to be trained, the mind does too. The yoga mat is such a perfect place to become aware of what we need and create a balance between strength and flexibility. That's what our mind needs as well."

.
"I traveled to San Francisco to start my 500TT with Jason Crandell In a two year time, so I can let his teaching infuse. The way he envisions Yoga is really subtle and technical. That's where a realization came to me about my teaching: Keep it simple."
.
.
"I decided to make this my mantra.
I deeply sense that we don't need much to be happy.
We have it all at hands reach, if we know where to look.
I stopped looking outside a while ago.
I know I have all the tools within to be anything I decide to be.
And all I want to be now is an understanding teacher who can help students adapt their practice to their bodies.
A teacher who gives them the proper tools to understand where they can find their happiness box."
